New Book!
I'm happy to announce the publication of my ninth book and third memoir. This is the story of my year in London when, at the age of 29, I had a passionate affair with an older, aristocratic woman. She also happened to be my landlady! I survived that year by selling sketches of shops I drew in ink while standing in the cold streets of London. At the same time my book collecting habit exploded in the rich atmosphere of London used booksellers. By exchanging my sketches for books I rapidly acquired hundreds of wonderful books. At the time I especially concentrated on books by W.H. Hudson, as well as books by booksellers, and books on bohemia. 92 Winslow Gardens also contains many original drawings from this period showing some shops and interiors of my little room.
